THANKS FOR YOUR GOOD SAMARITAN LOVE

By Lauren V. Macaraeg & Mama Uni Macaraeg

Thanks to all our Good Samaritans – family, friends & strangers – who have shown unexpected concern, love, consideration, compassion, kindness & help to us during this challenging, depressing period in our lives. 🙏❤️🤗 Maraming salamat from Mama Uni & Lauren. We just wanted to pop up online to let you know we’re still alive & surviving, to request for your understanding & consideration, to ask for prayers, and to thank our modern Good Samaritans for the special kind of love we’ve experienced… not the romantic love most people celebrated (or made hugot lines about!) this Valentine’s season, but a love that gives its best even when we are at our worst, just like God’s love. We love you all.

1. Gusto namin magpasalamat from the bottom of our hearts to all the people in our lives who wholeheartedly helped us in different important ways, sa lahat ng nangamusta & genuinely showed concern sa amin, sa lahat ng nagpakita ng compassion instead of judgement, and last but not least, sa lahat ng nagbigay ng kanilang precious time para samahan at damayan kami para di namin maramdaman na we’re alone. 💖💖💖 Noon at ngayon, totoo ngang #LoveIsSpelledTIME. Di na ako mag-ta-tag or magbabanggit ng mga names kasi you all know who you are. While Mama Uni & I always do our best under normal circumstances to be there for other people, whether happy or sad, we normally try to solve our problems on our own at nahihiya kami to ask for help from others. Pero thank you kasi na-overwhelm kami sa mga unexpected offers ng help at unexpected encouragement from both expected and unexpected people alike. Gaya ng modern Good Samaritans, you reached out your hands & your hearts to lift us up from the ground after we hit rock bottom. You could have simply turned your head & walked away but you didn’t. Because the reality of life is, many people are present when you give your best, but not when you face the worst. So thank you for choosing to stay. Thank you for reminding us in tangible ways that God loves us, especially sa panahon na ito when we really need the reminder. We love you guys.

2. Only by God’s grace, we’re still alive & surviving in spite of all the back-to-back problems we’ve been facing the past few months (sunud-sunod talaga!). Just letting you know in case any one was wondering.

3. We want to request for your consideration & understanding while we’re on #SurvivalMode. Sana maintindihan niyo if we cannot be there for you in the ways you’ve been used to before. We’ve been relatively quiet lately both in real life and online, not because we don’t care for you anymore, but simply because we’ve needed time to try to fix our lives & to face our problems. We won’t post a list of our problems here since it’s not our habit to do that; we’re already contented with sharing our concerns privately with family & close friends. It’s enough to let you know na may pinagdadaanan kami.

4. We want to ask for your prayers. Please pray for survival, protection, healing, provisions & miracles. Alam niyo naman that my mom Uni & I have always done our best to be positive and to look on the bright side of life in spite of all our trials (though most probably don’t realize what great an effort it costs us to try to continue to be our bubbly, cheerful selves). I truly appreciate people’s good intentions when people remind us to trust God or have faith and we do agree na dapat naman talagang magtiwala tayo kay Lord. Kahit na fighters kami – and we’ve had no choice but to be fighters & survivors all these years because of our family situation – tao pa rin lang kami. This is one of the strange periods of our lives na talagang sunud-sunod yung problema; parang halos walang breathing space in between. Please pray for our physical health & mental health. Well, actually kahit naman during the past few years, I didn’t really care that much either lol).

Thank you again sa inyong lahat. Sana maka-bonding at maka-chicka ulit tayong lahat when our circumstances are better. Praying na mag-umapaw ang Valentine’s season niyo ng tunay na pagmamahal, in romantic form man o ibang form. We love & miss you all. Big hugs to our Good Samaritans & to everyone from Lauren, Mama Uni & Cutiengs Cats. 😻❤️🐈

“In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’ “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?” The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.” Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.” (Luke 10:25-37)
