What happens when the Room to Read Writers’ Workshop 2019 @ Bohol Bee Farm, September 29-October 4, 2019 brings together 24 Filipino children’s book authors + editors from 4 publishers for 6 days? 48+ stories are written, friendships are formed, starfish are found, food is overflowing, creativity levels are off-the-charts. 📚✏️❤️🏖️😻🥗🍽️📖
Thank you to my fellow writers & our publishers & editors from Adarna, Anvil, Hiyas & Lampara for generously sharing your creative ideas, writing tips, life experiences & friendship. Na-starstruck ako sa inyo noon dahil sa galing niyo, pero lalo ko kayong hinangaan ngayon dahil sa kabutihan niyo. I was refreshed by our bonding moments together, from our Dumaluan beach adventures, getting-to-know-you chats, brainstorming & baliwan sessions, mental & physical health tip swaps, random photo & video ops, crazy laughter & chickahan, organic food appreciation (pa-soshal way to say “lafang” lol 🤣), etc. I am also grateful for your genuine concern for my health. We may be writers from four different publishers, but at the RtR workshop, I clearly felt that we were authors from one country – the Philippines – with one mission – to write books that give hope to Pinoy kids. It’s an honor to learn from you all. 📝💕🌊

Thank you for providing us a beautiful venue & a creative environment that made it possible for each of us to write 2 or more stories during the workshop, “Kuwentong Musmos: Palihan para sa Pagsusulat ng Kuwentong Pambata / Writing Storybooks for Beginning Readers Writers’ Workshop” by Room to Read / RtR & Adarna House. Kung di ba naman kami ma-inspire sa Panglao Island, Bohol ocean view, sa presence ng award-winning authors, at sa umaapaw na gourmet organic food at exotic ice cream ay ewan ko na lang! (10 spoons for the creatively cooked delicious cuisine & the superb service of the friendly Bohol Bee Farm staff! 🥄❤️🏆) Maraming salamat po sa inyong pag-aalaga at pag-aasikaso, kahit na mapuyat at mapagod na kayong mga organizers. Salamat din at hindi niyo kami binigyan kahit isang pagkakataon na magutom hahaha. Sa workshop na ito, busog ang tiyan, busog ang utak, at busog ang puso! 🍽️💖🏝️
