My new books-in-progress behind-the-scenes is mostly me trying to write while Cutie the Cat takes over my computer. ✏🐈💻😂😻📚 👧⌨️👸❤️ A writer’s life might seem glamorous, but the truth is, it’s mostly about hard work, daily life & kitty kulitan for me. While I do enjoy the occasional publishing events where I get to mingle with readers, publishers, illustrators & fellow writers, my favorite parts of a writer’s life are the simple, everyday moments where I simply write, love, and laugh with my favorite cats, Cutie & the Cute-ings, my kissing kitty inspiration & cat supervisors, and Mama Uni Cat, my editor-in-chief & personal chef. 👸🐈💃 I’m just the writer & Ate Lauren Cat lol. 😹
Please keep praying with us as I write, doodle, work, coordinate and pray even harder now that the Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) 2018 is only a few weeks away. We’ve been praying and wishing that my 3 books-in-progress will miraculously be published in time sana for MIBF 2018 this coming September. However, unless God suddenly surprises me with miracles, it seems to be the Lord’s will that only one book still has a chance of making it to MIBF 2018 at this point. Here are some book updates:
*#BookProjectAFC seems to have a good chance of being published on or before MIBF 2018, since my illustrator, editors and I are making major progress. Thank You, Lord! I’m thankful for my publisher’s and editors’ consistent guidance, cheerful support, and good time management. I’m also thankful for my illustrator’s superb skills, promptness, and hard work. Still, as I’ve discovered over the past few years, a book ain’t published ’til it’s published, so please continue praying as MIBF 2018 draws near. I hope to share more about this project with you once my publisher gives me the go signal. Abangan!
*#BookProjectEED is still an ongoing, active book project, but I was already officially informed last week that it will not be published in time for MIBF 2018 due to certain unexpected circumstances. I still appreciate my publishers’ and editors’ efforts, encouragement, prayers, clear communication, and genuine friendship throughout the process. Please pray that our book will be published within the year. In God’s perfect time!
*#BookProjectMBM, well, I’m not really sure what’s going on, but it needs a miracle to be published by MIBF 2018 or even within the year. Still, our God is a God of the impossible, so please pray for this project, that I may know what His will is about it. Bahala na si Lord!
*Last but not least, I still have some work-related paperwork that I have to finish before MIBF 2018. By God’s grace, I already finished a good portion of the paperwork recently (after months of literal sweat, tears and grace haha. You have no idea what I’ve been through the past few months!), but there are still some important paperwork I need to take care of in the days to come.
Writing is an important part of my life, but to be honest, it isn’t always easy taking care of work and paperwork. Yes, I have experienced joy and excitement, but I have also experienced a lot of work-related and paperwork-related stress and pressure this year. Heads up that I have to focus on work even more in the weeks to come so I will continue to appreciate your understanding if I still won’t be very sociable before MIBF 2018. But even if a writer’s life also includes frustrations, tiredness, pressure and even heartache sometimes, it’s still more than worth it. I’m thankful that God is giving me the chance to do what I love best: Writing and reading books. May bonus cat hugs pa! 🐈😘😻 Thanks to everyone, my family and friends, for your support and prayers!
