Happy DIY Lockdown Birthday, Mama Uni! Love, Lauren & Cutiengs Cats. 🌴🍌🎂👸♥️🏡🍅😻 DIY Banana Leaf Decor + Homemade Chocolate Cake + Boodle Fight w/ Palengke Food at Home. 🌴🍰🎉🍽️🍋 Sariling sikap kami! 💪 Pero super sulit ang #AlayLakad at effort para ipaghanda ang aking super mom na dati ay laging naghahanda para sa maraming tao. 💖 (April 2, 2020)
DIY Banana Leaf Decor – Ginamit namin ang mga dahon ng saging na binili ko sa palengke para mag-decorate (ginamit din namin ang art materials sa bahay). P15 lang ang bawat tupi ng banana leaves! At ang bawat tupi ay may mga 3-4 leaves each. So less than P50 lang ang nagastos ko para sa 3 tupi. 🍌
Homemade Chocolate Birthday Cake – 1st time ko na mag-bake ng full-size cake at para ito sa lockdown birthday ni Mama Uni! 🎂 Nag-ba-bake naman kami dati ng cupcakes, waffles, brownies & other small pastries pero takot ako dati mag-try ng malaking cake. Pero dahil kailangan magtipid, naglakas ako ng loob na magbake ng cake for Mama Uni’s birthday. Ginamit ko ang baking ingredients na meron kami sa bahay at ang soshal nuts na bigay ng balikbayan relatives bilang toppings at decor. Ang gold greetings cake centerpiece w/ names naman ay ginawa ko gamit ang… art materials sa bahay na ginupit at nilinis ko! 😂 So wala akong ginastos sa cake. 🎂 In fairness, nasarapan daw ng husto si Mama sa cake! 💝 At ang dami niyang nakaing cake haha. 🍰
Boodle Fight w/ Palengke Food at Home – Ang hinanda namin ni Mama Uni ay ang gulay, prutas, isda, karne, etc. na binili namin sa palengke (pass daw ang celebrant sa ibang behind-the-scenes #BTS pics kasi di daw siya nakaayos lol). Mura na, masustansiya pa. At ilang days din namin kakainin ito! 🍅🐟🍆
To be honest, hindi madali ang mag-celebrate ng birthday sa panahong ito dahil sa limitasyon ng buhay ngayong Enhanced Community Quarantine. Hindi madali ang pinagdadaanan natin bilang isang planeta at bilang isang bansa. Hindi rin madali ang personal na sitwasyon naming mag-ina. Pero this trial is reminding us even more how precious life is, kaya we still did our best to celebrate my mom’s birthday sa bahay kahit na may ECQ, with the help of creativity, resourcefulness & effort. At siyempre, the life of the best woman I know is definitely worth giving thanks for. 🙏
Thank you po sa lahat ng family & friends na nag-greet kay Mama Uni on her birthday. 💖 Kahit na may social distancing, natuwa siya sa lahat ng inyong video chats, calls, texts, group chat, messages, PMs, timeline posts, etc. May song greeting pa! 🎵 Salamat sa lahat for taking the time para pangitiin siya. 😀 We love you all! 🤗 Here is Mama Uni’s message:
