What a Wonder-pool Maxims Hotel Staycation Birthday Gift for Lauren & Mama Uni! 💝🎂🏊🌴🎁👸😻🏰🍽️🌊👑🏝️🌞💃 Thanks to our birthday genie from the family (who wishes to stay anonymous) for the fun & relaxing staycation birthday treat on February 18-19, 2019. 💖🎁🏊 Thanks to Jesus & to all of you, my family & friends, for helping make my day a beauti-pool one! 💕 Thank you for all the cheer-pool birthday greetings, wishes, prayers, dates, gifts, food, time & love. ❤️🎂🎁 I will do my best to reply to everyone this week. ✏️ Meowhugs & love lots! 🤗😻🐈
We were mesmerized by Maxims Hotel’s sparkling infinity pool! 🏊🌞🌴 It’s one of the most beautiful ones we’ve seen, with its clear glass walls & turquoise waters. 🌊
The pool area is like a pocket tropical paradise in the middle of the city, complete with palm trees & cabanas (favorite ni Mama Uni yung cabana! 👸). 🏝️
And I was the only guest who went swimming that time kaya parang pina-reserve for us yung pool haha. 😎
We enjoyed lounging in our spacious, luxurious junior suite. 🛌🏰🛋️
And we were thrilled that the roomy bathroom had a bathtub! 🚿 We each soaked in the bathtub for a looong time lol. 🛁 Natuwa rin kami nung nag-sink in sa amin na may sari-sarili kaming sink sa giant bathroom (corny pun intended). 🤣
After I hung out in the living section, I sat next at the wooden desk & I had fun writing on the thick, creamy hotel stationery, since nice paper is one of my geeky joys in life. 📝 I even made an impromptu birthday #LaurenMacDoodles doodle! ✏️
And of course, we enjoyed our delicious, free breakfast at the Terrace. 🥓🥞🥣 The tasty, perfectly cooked omelette deserves a special mention! 🍳
Sa totoo lang, Mama Uni & I are just jologs girls at heart. 👩🐈👧 Kaya masaya na kami sa mga simpleng bagay lang. 🌱 Sanay kami sa Go Hotels, the small & basic budget hotel where we stay occasionally pag may sale. To be honest, nagulat kami kasi parang malaki pa yung bathroom sa Maxims’ kaysa sa usual room namin sa Go hahaha. 😂 (Pero malaki o maliit man ang room, one thing stays the same: We still watch the same TV channel, the Asian Food Channel! 🍜📺🍳). Natuwa rin kami sa complimentary pistachio macarons from the hotel kasi kahit puto ay solb na kami hehe. 🍩
We’re still good with small & simple things, but it’s nice to experience something different & more fancy every now & then, so we really appreciate our anonymous birthday genie’s staycation treat at Maxims Hotel. ❤️ Maraming salamat for making my birthday this year extra special for Mama Uni & me with your thoughtfulness, kindness & generosity! 🎂

The infinity pool is gorgeous! 🏊 The only thing is transparent yung walls so I can’t hide my body fats in the water like I usually do when swimming in regular pools. 😂 Oh well, whatever, basta masaya! 😜 #Bloopers

Thanks to all my amazing & loving fairy godfathers & godmothers – my lolas & lolos, my Mama Uni, my Papa Boy, my titos & titas & the rest of the family in the Philippines, US & Australia – for the unexpected birthday surprises & greetings! 🤴💖👸 I was originally planning to celebrate simply & quietly as usual, but you all made my birthday extra special this year with your unexpected birthday treats, gifts & dates, and more importantly, with your love, genuine concern for my health & well-being, and your presence. 💕 And through our fun conversations, foodie bonding & crazy moments. 🥤🍽️😹 You made a big difference, not just because you cheered me up on my birthday, but also because you lifted up my spirits just when I needed it. Nakakagaan at nakakataba ng puso ang encouragement niyo during this challenging time when I have health concerns & when it’s easy to be discouraged sometimes in spite of my efforts to stay positive.
