Super thankful to celebrate Valentine’s & my birthday in advance on February 14, 2019 with my beautiful dates, my 92-year old Lola Nelly Macaraeg, the Queen of Hearts (may coronation talagang naganap! 👑), Ate Belen, Lola’s cute & funny angel, and my Mama Uni at Max’s Restaurant, Congressional Ave. Branch. 👸👸💗💃👸
Especially since this is only the 2nd time in my adult life that I spent these special occasions with my grandmother in the Philippines! 🌞 We’re finally reunited with my Lola Nelly who is beautiful inside & out, because she loves God & the people around her, with both her words & actions. 👸
In fairness, ang daming fans ni Lola Nelly during our date. 💕 Para siyang artista kasi ang daming tumitingin sa kanya habang nakangiti at nagtatanong kung ilang taon na siya. Akala ng iba 80 years old lang siya! Yihee, youthful mestiza beauty. 😉
Ang dami rin nanonood kay Lola Nelly habang nag-beauty queen coronation at nag-pi-pictorial kami sa photo booth area kaya kinilig at na-conscious si Lola hihi. 😅
At last but not least, naging model pa yata ang Lola Nelly ko! 📷👑 Habang nag-pi-picture taking kami, may nag-request na staff ng Max’s kung puwede din niya kaming kunan ng picture & we said yes. We’re not sure if yung phone that Kuya used to take the photo was personal or official, pero kung sa Max’s yun, posibleng maging model ang lola ko kung i-post nila hehe (siya ang bida at extra lang kami lol). 💄😂📸
We’re thankful also for the simple & delicious food na nilafang namin during our Valentine’s & pre-birthday dinner, lalo yung favorite fried chicken ko at yung shakes. 🍝🍗🥘🥤🍧
We’re super happy because Lola Nelly enjoyed our Valentine’s date together! “Maraming salamat sa inyo. Very memorable ang gabing ito…” she said, while her eyes were bright & sparkling. 👸👸💗💃👸
My grandma was so cheerful nung Valentine’s kaya nag-joke pa siya! Lola Nelly surprised us by suddenly testing her new heart pillow hahaha. 👸♥️😻 Humiga siya talaga sa unan lol!!! 🤣 Cute ng lola ko!!! 😉💕😂
Lola Nelly was happy & surprised too because of Tito Eddie, Tita Charee & Andrea’s pretty Valentine’s Gift for her. 👸💖🤴🍫♥️🍬
We’re thankful for all our family, friends & kitty cats, not just on Balentayms, but also beyond hehe. 💕🐈🤗 And of course, I’m also thankful for my long-distance video chats with my Papa Boy, Tita Emily & Tita Bebeth on Valentine’s Week. 🎥💕🎁

Thanks to all my amazing & loving fairy godfathers & godmothers – my lolas & lolos, my Mama Uni, my Papa Boy, my titos & titas & the rest of the family in the Philippines, US & Australia – for the unexpected birthday surprises & greetings! 🤴💖👸 I was originally planning to celebrate simply & quietly as usual, but you all made my birthday extra special this year with your unexpected birthday treats, gifts & dates, and more importantly, with your love, your genuine concern for my health & well-being, and your presence. 💕 And through our fun conversations, foodie bonding & crazy moments. 🥤🍽️😹 You made a big difference, not just because you cheered me up on my birthday, but also because you lifted up my spirits just when I needed it. Nakakagaan at nakakataba ng puso ang encouragement niyo during this challenging time when I have health concerns & when it’s easy to be discouraged sometimes in spite of my efforts to stay positive.
