To be honest, I’m not sure how or why I was nominated. I was surprised to find out I was part of the lineup since the other writers are big-time while I’m just a newbie. But I believe that everyone’s active support the past few years must have played a big role in it. Maraming salamat to my super encouraging and supportive family, friends, colleagues and readers <3
Seriously, I’m already happy whether I win or not. It’s an honor to be nominated alongside talented and prolific writers whom I’m a fangirl of. It’s sort of like being nominated as Best Performer with other actors and actresses whose movies you watched as a kid. Yun nga lang, writer kami at hindi artista 😉
It would also be nice to win though. The exposure could really help my writing career, especially since I plan to work even harder in the days to come. Please help this nerdy girl’s dreams come true. Vote now!

Here’s a guide on how to vote for your Most Favorite Writer at the Aklat Awards 2016. I’m sharing this since people have been asking me how to vote and how to find my name. I hope this helps:
Step 1: Click on the link to go to the Aklat Awards 2016 Voting Form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScPVLZkLo3yTrWNaCvOZSL6hv3gr2qdEd3WZ_nl_feFH79P0A/viewform

Step 2: Log in using your Google / Gmail account.
Step 3: Click on the circle next to the names of the writers, illustrators, books, etc. to vote. You may vote in different categories, but you can only choose one name per category.
FAQ: “Where can I find your name?”
Answer: “You can find our names in the Most Favorite Writer category in the Lampara Books (LB) section on PAGE 4. My name, “Lauren Macaraeg”, is fifth on the list. Click on the “Next” button at the bottom of the #AklatAwards2016 Google Docs until you reach our page. Feel free to vote in the other categories and sections before you do. It’s optional, but I recommend it in order to support other Filipino writers and illustrators.”
Step 4: After you finish voting, click on the “Submit” button on Page 8. You’re done!
